An old man in his late 70, looking very old and fragile, is sitting on the chair right at the front yard of his house. He dress sharply this morning in purpose, since he is very much affirmative that his son would come. It is Christmas, his son would surely come home. It has been twenty five years since the precious one left the hometown, moving to the capital city becoming a proud man. Starting from 8 o'clock in the morning, the man has already been waiting for the return of his only son, hoping that he would show up.
Time falls way too quickly, it is getting dark and the familiar face has not yet seen anywhere near. The man starts to recall, thinking of what he has done wrong in lifetimes before. Time is turned back when the man was still proud and tough, a notable police man living in the town of a never dull moment; Cotswolds. The man was very hard on his son, started since his wife passed away. He loves his son more than anything in the world, he just does not want his son to fail in life and that is why he was very hard on him.
The man starts to recall every memory of his son from the moment he was born to the world, up until now he has grown to be a man in middle 40s, already having a family of his own. The last time the man heard, his son is a giant culinary bussiness man in the capital city, a man with no less of abundant money. That is exactly what the man always wants; his son to be a success man. It is well proven now. What the man regrets is he never gave his son the chance of exploring his talents. The man pushed his son very hard to become a man like him, that is what he disagreed because deep down he wanted to be a professional cook.
William is no longer a proud and a tough man. He is old, sad, and weary, especially since his son; Richard left home 25 years ago and has not yet returned. He sends money and clothes, whatever a man in his late 70 needs, but he never comes home. Deep down, Richard does not hate his father, he just does not know how to put the pieces back together, too much has been missed and lost. Deep down, William does not hate his son, he just wants his son to come home, he just wants to have his son embraced because he loves him. William loves his son beyond anything in the world. The man does not need money, the man needs his son back. Here sits a disappointed man in his late 70, longing for his son to find forgiveness and come home to see the old man again before the winter takes him forever. Praying, he calls Richard's name to come home, hoping to spend a new year's evening together in jolly.
